Building Management Systems: A Detailed Guide

Image
A building management system (BMS) monitors and manages the mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical services in a facility. The service may include power, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, physical access control, pumping stations, elevators, and lights. To put it simply about the very basic building management systems the software, a server with a database, and a smart sensor in connection to an Internet-capable network are to be mentioned. Smart sensors around the building are designed to gather data in order and send it to the BMS. This is where it gets stored in a database. If any data is reported by the sensor that does not come under the predefined conditions, the BMS will send an alert and ring an alarm.  The system decides whether BMS software can be installed as a standalone application or whether it is to be integrated with other monitoring programs. More improved BMSes are featured with technologies to monitor and handle a wide range of building services acr
