Increase Efficiency By Utilizing Smart Lift Integration

The movement of foot traffic around an office building contributes a lot towards the productivity of the offices within the building. One of the most crucial areas of traffic management are the elevator systems. They are responsible for distributing the people around towards their specific destinations, thus regulating the flow of traffic entering and exiting the building. The efficiency of the elevators are therefore an important area of concern for the building managers.

Modern buildings are integrated with lift access control systems that optimize elevator systems by allocating lifts efficiently according to the priority algorithm. This works miraculously in reducing wait times in the lobby.

The smart access control systems allow restricted access to specific floors at specific times. An ID can be assigned to employees who are granted access to the floor, depending on their shifts. The control panels of the lift systems also include CCTV cameras to observe unauthorized people attempting to access the floor. This strengthens the security of the building and of the specific floors and offices.

Elevator access control systems are robust yet flexible systems that allow the changing of the status of a zone to grant or deny access. Employee IDs can get lost or not returned upon the termination of their employment. By assigning a proximity card to every ID, individual devices can be locked or removed from the database, eliminating the need of replacing locks to prevent security breach.

Many office buildings require supervisors to be present before other employees start entering into the building. List access control systems can be set up to only allow supervisors to disarm the elevators to grant access to employees. The elevators can also be programmed to grant access to specific departments who work on different schedules. Individual elevators can also be assigned for specific departments.

Managing foot traffic around the building also involves the general public and visitors. To keep the public out of restricted areas, the lobby elevators can be programmed to lock and unlock at specific times during the day. The access control systems also make the building management more cost-effective by eliminating the need to hire elevator security guards and lift operators.
